GEO ACTION ALERT!

NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT TO HELP EXTEND THE FEDERAL TAX CREDITS FOR GEOTHERMAL HEAT PUMPS

Last December, Congress extended tax credits for solar technologies by five years. Geothermal heat pumps were left out of the extension. Since then, GEO has pushed hard for an amendment to correct that oversight for BOTH commercial AND residential geothermal heat pump installations.

The amendment is up for inclusion in the FAA Funding Authorization Bill now under Senate consideration. But in its current form, it will ONLY extend the tax credits for commercial geothermal heat pump installations.

GEO needs your help NOW to make sure the Senate amendment includes residential geothermal heat pump tax credits under Section 25D.

We have only a short window to make our voice heard, including today (Friday, April 8) and Monday (April 11).

PLEASE CHECK OUR LIST OF KEY SENATORS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS MESSAGE. IF ANY REPRESENT YOUR STATE, CALL AND SEND AN MAIL RIGHT AWAY!

INSTRUCTIONS

Your call should be brief and to the point. If you have time, send an email to their offices as well.  Tell a staff person or leave a message voicing your support to include residential geothermal heat pumps under Tax Code Section 25D.  And most importantly, ask your Senator(s) to voice their support of our amendment to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

HERE IS A SAMPLE MESSAGE, BUT IT WOULD BE EVEN BETTER IN YOUR OWN WORDS:

“Please support the amendment to the FAA Funding Authorization bill that will level the playing field for renewable energy technologies and include residential (25D) for geothermal heat pump installations, similar to tax credit treatment given to solar by Congress last December. That simply means moving the sunset date for residential geothermal heat pump tax credits in 25D to the end of 2021, with a phase-out. My company and the entire industry will suffer if this legislative fix is not enacted.”

PICK UP THE PHONE AND SEND AN EMAIL NOW FOR THE FUTURE OF YOUR BUSINESS AND THE GEOTHERMAL HEAT PUMP INDUSTRY!
