My wife and I are in the process finalizing our contract and signing the paperwork for our new Geo system.

My question is does the thermostat that comes with this unit monitor everything like compressor current, EWT/LWT, EAT/LAT, and the hot water generator temps? Or is this something that only the Aurora (AID) tool can do?

    I would ask your contractor.

Thermostat (the color touchscreen one) shows energy monitoring but the other things you are listing only the aid tool shows. Waterfurnace will come out with a web based monitoring system very soon, where you should be able to see the other things on your computer screen.

Be sure you spent the extra $250 and get it with the Aurora Performance and Refrigeration package . I will not sell a series 5 or 7 without it..its comes standard on our contracts and I do not offer a deduct if they do not want it.

Dito. No unit without Aurora Performance and Refrigeration package. I also refuse to put a unit in without it.

Anyone care to elaborate on what the Performance and Refrigeration package includes?

    Refrigerant Monitoring
(Standard on all 7 Series units)
The optional Refrigerant Monitoring Kit includes two
pressure transducers, and three temperature sensors,
heating liquid line, suction temperature and existing cooling
liquid line (FP1). These sensors allow the measurement of
discharge and suction pressures, suction and liquid line
temperatures as well as superheat and subcooling. This
information will only be displayed on the AID Tool.
    Performance Monitoring
    (Optional sensor kit)
The optional Performance Monitoring Kit includes three
temperature sensors, entering and leaving water, leaving
air temperature and a water flow rate sensor. With this kit
heat of extraction and rejection will be calculated. This
requires configuration using the AID Tool for selection of
    water or antifreeze.

I too have adopted ACES and Docs policy...I don't even discuss these "options" with clients.
