I have a climate master tranquility 22. I have an open loop using a constant pressure variable speed submersible pump. What is the ideal pressure setting for the geothermal? Is 60psi too much pressure? Will more pressure increase its heating/cooling ability? Thank you Tom
If a open loop pumping system shares the domestic water supply, or is used for lawn irrigation. A pressure reducing valve can be employed to reduce noise and friction in the heat pump. Eric
Thank you for the replies. Wouldn’t more pressure mean more gpm flow? Does more gpm through the heat pump equal more heating/cooling ability?
As Chris said above ^^^^ the heat pump needs gallons not pressure. We set the pressure reducing valve to 30 psi or less. The reason is to eliminate water hammer and other related high flow issues. More pressure or less does impact it's ability to perform. High pressure causes nuisance issues. not performance issues, Eric
