Hi. I own a 20-year old WF Premier AT series closed loop system. It works great (after replacing the flow center recently). I found a used unit for sale that is similar to mine. Mine is a 4.0 ton unit and the one for sale is Premier2 2.8 ton. My question is, would there be enough interchangeable parts to make it worth buying the other unit? Would compressor, fan motor, circuit boards, etc. be interchangeable? The seller says it works fine, just had loop issues that forced him to go with a traditional HVAC unit. He is asking $700.

    Thanks! Jeff

The only parts that MIGHT be interchangeable would be the electronics and possibly the blower assm.

That sounds like a high amount for such an old unit, with no confirmation of it working and able to interchange parts. If it was say $150, i would say do it, as that would be scrap value if you were to strip it down, but $700 is high IMO.
