We’ve had our WaterFurnace 5series for about 5 years (closed loop). No issues, but when I was changing the filter last week I opened the unit and it looked like condensation on the inside below the circuit board. When I went to wipe it up, it was congealed and extremely sticky. I couldn’t find anywhere that it was dripping from, so perhaps happened once and not since. Pressure seems fine. Any insights?
Could be coating on something that got condensation. I've seen some nasty stuff when Ive cleaned out the reservoir where condensation goes for A/C. That should be distilled water so it obviously picked up coating from various things it condensed on.
I do some work in a brewery and tend to notice that any and every line running with 32 degree fluid gets condensation and buildup of airborne gunk which, over time, turns to black slimy goop.
