I'm new to the forum but have spent the last couple hours reading here and find it pretty awesome. We installed a new 2T system this year and are just heading into our first heating season. In prior years, I've always plowed all of our driveway snow into the area that now holds our horizontal loop at 7 feet deep. Would piled up snow from the driveway be a help or hindrance? Thank you in advance.

I would be surprised if it would make a difference at all.

I agree with dgbair, if anything the snow would act as insulation.

Thanks for the comments. The other concern there is 2 or more weeks delay in the spring melt. Great forum. Tim

Nothing scientific but it seemed the system performed a bit better in the winter with snow cover. Incoming temps seemed to stop dropping but that may have been coincidence as they approached 32F.
