Indiana Rust buildup in discharge pipes.

We have an open loop geothermal unit in our basement in northeast Indiana where the rust content in well water is very high. The discharge pipe connects to a larger diameter pipe. The larger diameter pipe develops a buildup of rust that prevents the water to discharge properly. As a temporary fix I created an overflow pipe that drains through our sump pump drain. Not an ideal solution as now that pipe has rust building up in it too. Any thoughts on how to mitigate the rust buildup in my drain pipes?
