Newbie with a ?

    Weird question but here we go.

    I have a place that used to have an outdoor wood boiler but now is electric baseboards inside and a pellet stove in the living room. I still have the furnace in the crawl space that is only used for central air.

    My question is, can a furnace that was used for an outdoor wood boiler be converted or easily used for a geo system? I still have all the piping that goes outside installed. Just needs the drill holes and fluid.


    Really like geothermal as I grew up with it. The upcost is ridiculous now and was dabbling the idea of getting it installed if a wood boiler furnace could be used instead of getting a brand new one.

    No of course not silly. You can however tear it all out and upgrade the duct work if necessary.
