how do you folks measure /monitor flow from your water source to ensure the required GPM per ton in your HP ?

do you use a sediment filter such as a big blue 4x20 to improved water quality?

    thanks

If open loop a simple flow meter from "white" doeas nicely. Only install a sediment filter if it is needed, the require maintanance.

If closed loop you measure the pressure drop acrossed the coil via the PT ports. No filtration unless non-pressurised system.

During our start-up and maintenance for non-pressurized systems, we use a B&D flow meter tool.

You can also install the flow meter tool inline, but I have been to 3 jobs in the past 12 months (not our jobs) where the flow meter tools has caused issues or leaked and we have removed them from the system. If you want to install on, i recommend putting a bypass on it to allow for service.
