Dear Members, I am sadly writing to tell you the bad news that Mark passed away suddenly last Sunday, 6/25, of an apparent pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lung). I know that he truly treasured both your friendship and expert help over these past many years. Our daughter, Aimee, has put together a small fund raiser to help cover costs as we go forward without him. I am including a link for anyone who may want to help. Lastly, per his wishes, Mark was cremated and we will be having a get together, hopefully on September 9 (his birthday), when we will take a day trip to Kelleys Island and spread his ashes in Lake Erie on the way. Thank you all from both of us for your past and ongoing support, Stephanie Custis https://www.youcaring.com/markcustis-860462
Mark and I never did get a chance to get together and share a drink. We probably never got closer than 1000km from one another, but I do feel like I came to know him over the last few years. If you or your children end up in my neck of the woods, I'd love to hear more about him. Beers on me and deepest sympathy for your loss. Chris
My sympathies, Stephanie. I truly enjoyed Mark's contributions here. His style was at times unconventional, but somewhat captivating too. Besides his public posts, he also took the time to try and help me in private forum conversations. That to me speaks of his character.
