CV is head loss through fittings and valves, at least in Cleveland.

Eric: I will dive with you anytime, you got my back.

Doc: You and I did this to no advantage. No harm, no foul. Please try and cut a fellow expert a break, even if you do not agree with their experience or thinking.

I am healing and we may be moving soon. Utah is too damn hot. It snows more in Buffalo than in Cleveland. We liked MD and DE, but that area may flood soon.

Lived in MI might go back.

All on the foot, got these CLE Vets trained.

While it may be true that a blow is coming.... I just bought a new boat and am scheduled to sail the Sevren river on Saturday. I do not know which statement is more depressing.

    1. I bought a new boat
    2. a blow is coming

    You decide.

Life here is relaxed and the taxes are low. Just don't park the motorhome close to water when it is threatening.

Choice 2 is more depressing. Life is better with a boat.

Where I grew up the only boat that did not haul iron ore was named Lyman.

    Eric,

With Navy vs. Air Force game in Annapolis at 3:30 Saturday, you may be in prime position on the Severn to view the pre-game flyover (weather permitting)

Weather permitting being the key phrase.... lol The fleet is playing it close to the vest, and does not want to cancel. I put my faith in wind finder.com, and this am they were projecting 30mph sustained with gusts in the 45mph range. The race as well as the fly over are in serious question at this point.

Again, need the length of the header pipe outside to the loop field.

    1. Cv – Flow Coefficient = Index of Flow Capacity equivalent to the gallons per minute of water at standard temperature (60°F = 16°C) which will flow through a valve or fitting at a pressure differential across the valveof 1 psi.
This should be on the specs of the zone valves. Or just give me the make and model #. Need their pressure drop to see how each heatpump circuit balances each other out.

We do it too for 4 or 5 ton systems ($6000/ton), but the $$$ per ton for smaller systems increases proportionally. Also to bold in 3 heat pumps instead of one is 3 times the work, and you are paying for 3 heat pumps instead of one. I would challenge any installer here to put the turn key system as outlined by Dewayne for $18K. Milage can vary.

    Did we get this resolved?

They are turning the Lyman factory into condos. Sandusky is trying to reinvent the water front. Nice town.

Spent a summer on the Ogleby-Norton SS Reserve. The rest of my boating is Lyman, Grumman and Star Craft. When I grew up the Black River would eat an aluminum boat, and the Cuyahoga could catch fire.

Waiting for the CV on the valves from Dewayne, and the length of the header trench/pipe from the house to the loop field

    Hi Doc,

I am doing this for a friend of mine and am waiting for him . I will post here when I get it. Thanks for your interest

    Hey Guys,
my friend finally got his system put together . He went with the constant pressure pump. Right now when the Tstat calls for heat, the fan comes on, then the valve opens (takes a while ) and then the compressor starts. The end result is the fan blows cold air while waiting for the valve to open. How is the best way to handle this?

Also when all of the valves are closed, the pump is still energized and seems to maintain about 5 psi. Is there a way to power off the pump, while waiting for a call to heat?

What pump did he get? What valves did he get?

It is a matter of control wiring.

You should be able to wire the 24V thermostat signal through the zone valve, let it open, and then the valve passes on the signal to the heatpump, which turns on the blower and shortly after the heatpump.

    Power off pump:

GVZM Zone Manager, used to reduce energy consumption even further by turning off the circulator when no heat pumps are calling.
