    Hi Folks,
I have a HydroHeat MegaTek MT4V043T ground source heat pump that also heats our water that was installed in 2010 replacing our previous HydroHeat after 16 years. This past Spring/Summer we'd randomly find it was in high pressure lockout with the LED blinking, indicting it happened during water heating.

My HVAC installer tried to dig up information on it but could not find and definite solutions as HydroHeat went out of business, tho the leading theory seems to be the switching valve is getting stuck and it stays in water heating too long, causing the high pressure lockout.

We dealt with it as all we had to do was reset the power to the system and it was good again until the next time. But then as winter came it was starting to happen more frequently sometimes every other day, sometimes twice a day. But then over the last 2 months its only been happening about every 20 days. Only problem in winter tho is that it may go to the electric backup resistance if its locked out.

Trying to find out if anyone has any experience with this .. what it might cost to replace the switching valve, or if we can instead get an on demand electric water heater and turn off the water heating by our heat pump to get past this problem.

Appreciate any insights people might have ...
