I have a waterfurnace 5, 4 ton, closed loop (3100 sqft house). Having trouble getting humidity below 64. Temp/humidity outside is around 73/99%. I've had the air set between 70-72 trying to get the humidity down, but I can't crack 64%.
I turned the fan to auto, which helped some, but not enough. even with outside temps hovering 80 (temp set at 70-72 indoors still), this thing isn't removing enough moisture. What does it take without freezing to death??
How much humidity should be pulled with each degree temp is lowered? EX: if I lowered temp 2 degrees, should I expect humidity to decrease by 2%?
I have a tech coming Fri, I just want some knowledge when he shows up. What should he be looking at to fix this?

Try slowing the blower or set the control to allow for dehumidification.

He came and slowed the blower, no improvement. Needed to know how much dehumidification to expect when it's 80 outside, air set at 72 inside. Currently at 60% .

Is it a single speed unit?

    Variable speed.

    Are you cooling already?

    How are you measuring RH?

How are you measuring air flow?

Have you looked for openings in the return air system that could be allowing non-conditioned air to enter the system and therefore the home?

Yes, cooling mostly to get the humidity down. My tstat has a humidity reading, and I purchased one to compare it's reading. They are about 5% apart, the purchased one lower. The installer tech came out and lowered blower speed and checked attic for visible leaks in ducts and checked return. It's a new build (2011).

Sometimes humidity is difficult to control in bumper seasons. Just because it is 80 outside doesn't mean you have real load in the house if the nights are still cool. You may have to set the temp lower or wait til it's warmer out.

During the day when it runs every 10 minutes - there isn't a load? Just seems to me it should be pulling more humidity running like that.

Yes exactly if it's running every 10 minutes (and turning off inside of 10 minutes) then there isn't real load. Takes about 10 minutes to start condensing.
You could select lower speed for longer run time, make sure thermostat strategy isn't activating second stage and make sure fan is on auto (not running constantly).

    What
What do you mean by thermostat strategy?

You want your thermostat to up stage based on temperature not time. Make sure you are not engaging second stage during low load situs as this
