Wow, I'm very sorry to hear the bad news.

Here is a link to a pdf of the thermostat manual: http://www.climatemaster.com/downloads/ATP32U03.04.pdf

I suggest reviewing the following settings with your installer. Disclaimer - make changes at your own risk. Read section "IV. Installer Settings". You may want your installer to do this for you.

I'm not a pro, but would suggest the following settings/strategies based on your aux usage and reading the manual. Of course, all of this assumes your thermostat is wired properly.

    1) set the thermostat to Programmable
    2) enable Smart Recovery
    3) don't set back more than 2*F
    4) program all planned temperature changes you desire. Manual adjustments tend to make aux engage faster, sometimes with as little as a 1*F change. Avoid manual changes in heating mode as much as possible.
    5) If you want, you can enable Smart Heat Staging. This is a timed (up to 120 minutes) lockout of aux heat. The other suggested changes may get you where you want to be (so try them first.) This can be used as a 2 hour aux lockout to ensure aux doesn't engage during this time, but remember that you may be cold for up to 2 hours if aux is really needed and is locked out.
    6) Do you have an outdoor temperature sensor installed? If so, you will be able to see the outdoor temperature displayed on the thermostat? There is another aux lockout available with an outdoor temperature sensor which is based on the outdoor temperature.

There is a "Differential Option", but I like timed And temperature to select staging instead of just temperature, so don't try this yet.

    You guys are great.

Is there any update? Has Troy been taken care of?

I offered to lend a hand,

but Troy just stopped playing. Since I do this for a living I can not drive across two States for free.

One can lead a horse to water, but one can not make the horse drink.

    Thanks,

I know everyone tried. Not knowing how Troy made out, is sort of like never asking that cute girl out and then finding out she moved away. You just never know..... I start my unit install in the next three or four weeks. I feel good knowing so many good people are out there to help.
