how much of the loop is PVC?

Not sure. The leaky joints and droop were between the unit and the pumps. Thanks for asking! I just looked to see if it is PVC going outside, squeezed the insulation, and fluid came out. Looks like that's where the leak is. I was hoping that was the case, and we didn't know because the leak was concealed by the insulation. Now I'm hoping the bad pipe doesn't go too far outside. I'll be calling the installer back.

PVC should not be used for geo piping. There is too much expansion and contraction due to the temperature swings. This Geo 101. Don't let your installer tell you otherwise. Good Luck :)
