I bought a 7 year old house with geothermal heat.
It is similar to the house I came from , but the old house had oil, hot water.

It took a little getting used to the hot air ( I don't exactly know why ) but now I don't notice the difference at all, and it looks like the heat cost here is about 1/3 what it was at the old house.

good grief. what's not to like.:)

    hoping to learn

I work as an industrial mechanic/electrician so I am confortable working with stuff like this, but I don't know anything about this system, whereas I knew everything about the old one.. i installed most of it. Not knowing much about my heating system kinda gives me the willies.

I am hoping to hang around this forum for a while and be an expert pretty soon.

I really think that with the oil situation ( and it ain;t gonna get any better) that somebody better do something ... now that I've lived here four months over winter... hey , this is a top notch option... could we replace the engine in my truck with a geothermal system?:)

    realolman,
The troubleshooters check list is a great place to look for indicators of your systems performance.
Entering and leaving water and air temps are some of the most useful measurements you can take and they are easy to get.
