I have a water furnace 5 series and I was considering a generator, the portable type that I plug in outside my home to a transfer switch. We have intellistart on our Waterfurnace. While the generator is on, currently the ac is running on it. I can read the Instant Energy Monitor and it only reads about 3300 watts (compressor, pump, etc, included in that 3,300 number.) If I were to get a generator rated peak 9500 watts and 7500 stated watts. With having all the other breakers in the house turned off, so that the generator is the solo thing running would you think that the generator would be able to handle this? What other information would you need to help with this?
Your best bet is to search on this forum. You can use google to search this site using a "site search." There are a few posts where people had success. For example: https://www.geoexchange.org/forum/t...o-i-actually-need-to-run-my-wf-5-series.5797/
