    I see everybody carries brass barb fittings. For a reason no doubt. I am assuming the the plastic poly pipe barb fittings that are used for irrigation and well work are out of the question...Would it be because of the temperature extremes of the loop water throughout the year? Would the plastic barb fittings not hold up? Any thoughts???

    I would never bury any kind of barbed fitting.

    Hi Dwayne,

    I would also never bury any kind of crimp fitting.

    I would, but only after I had shot them, to put them out of my misery.

    Yep

    Agreed - no buried "mechanical" fittings at all.

    Barb fittings have their use in the mechanical room.

    Fusion=Good Barbed+Bad

    I have the PE 3408 fusion cert ( for doing Gas piping) ,I just found out that our equipment will also do GEO pipe, when I did the fusion at the Training center they did a "Destructive Test" and I was Impressed that even very bad connections did not fail at fittings, that wont happen with any mech. fitting,
    thats a fact.
