Flower beds

    Don't laugh! But I actually know of people considering putting loops under garden beds to warm the soil to enable plants to grow better, or flower earlier. I think it could work.

    That could backfire since spring flowers coincide with the latter part of the heating season up north

    You are right, and that would be true for most people, but the people I mentioned are high end, very experienced and nationally known garden designers working for multi-galzillionaires.

    I'm sure they were not considering trying to do one that would bloom in February. I believe they were thinking of how to enable certain species - shrubs as well as perennials - that are not always reliable in our area to survive. Could be interesting
