Hello. Please forgive me as I am entirely new to the system in my home. I had a plumber out to provide some advice, but I'm second guessing.

I live rural, and am leaving for an extended winter absence. I have a closed loop geothermal system providing radiant heat in my ranch house. There are also TWO hot water tanks located adjacent my system. Only ONE of those has electricity hooked up to it. My intention is to shut off the water pump to my house, cut back the temperature in the house to about 50 degrees, and kill power to the electric hot water heater as there will be no need for domestic hot water for an extended period of time.

Does any of this create risk for the geothermal system to perform? I know there is some temperature benefit from the overall system to preheating the domestic hot water, but I want to feel more confident that I am not creating problems with my plans....

thanks in advance for any advice.

    Greg
