I have a Climate Master Classic 5 ton GSHP installed in 1996. This year I experienced several compressor cutouts and looking further the EWT was getting down to 38-37 degrees. My assumption is that this years snowpack was bacically nil and my well water temp went down in temp. My supply well is 19 feet deep and I can only guess that this is the problem. I would assume that anyone with a horizontal loop would experience this problem. 1st time in 22 yrs. Has anyone experienced this issue this year.

You might not have enough flow? EWT of 37-38F is right where the heat exchange will start building up ice in an open system. No issues with our horizontal systems, they are all running above 32F on average.
