McQuay/Daikin makes one of these , the WMHC for use with chiller/boiler systems and the WMHW for geothermal - the temps rated for the water in and out are considerably different but the parts list seems to be the same including the txv. i have one wmhc i'd like to use for geo but wondered if the difference was in the charging or the software or?? Anyone know??
The Extended Range or Geothermal model includes insulated piping and a lower freezestat cutoff as needed for closed loop with antifreeze. See page 23 in catalog- http://lit.daikinapplied.com/bizlit...alogs/CAT_1104-10_Console_WSHP_MHC-MHW_LR.pdf
Thanks I looked at the McQuay parts list for the 2 models and saw that the "control temperature" component on the control board was also different for each model. They list a part # for each but i don't know if you could swap them out on the board. Buying a new control board might make it prohibitive and i also noted that they want the software # off your old board when you order a new one which likely means a different software for the geo boards.
