Hi -- I am the person with the "Ground Loop Add-on" thread. Since I was made aware that the expected life of my Poly Butylene ground loop life is 30 years, I am thinking the wise thing to do is to abandon my loop, and go with wells instead. My present water well is 150' deep, and into about 20' of shale on top of limestone. My driller wants to go with 4 wells, 200' deep. If each loop is into 50' of water, do I have to have 3 wells, or can I get by with 3? He wants $2,800 a well.
