On Jan. 17, Massachusetts Sen. Barry Finegold introduced, legislation that would add thermal renewable energy to the state's Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard. GEO Helps Local Effort on North Carolina Drilling Rules

With the support of the Geothermal Exchange Organization (GEO) in May, a group of geothermal industry supporters led by the North Carolina Plumbing and Mechanical Association were successful in bringing about changes to drilling rules in the state. The changes satisfy the concerns of the state for water quality, and allow continued installation of geothermal heat pump systems.

GEO Weighs in on Oregon RETC Program

The Geothermal Exchange Organization (GEO) provided comments to the Oregon Department of Energy on its proposed changes to the state's Residential Energy Tax Credit (RETC) Program.
