Municipalities pushing geo?

Is there a list of municipalities that have actively encouraged geoexchange, either through incentives, removing barriers to permitting, allowing drilling on public land, etc? If anyone knows of such a list, or simply municipalities that are working to encourage geo please let me know.

Sadly quite the opposite is true. My experiance has been that once they are educated about Geo, the money grab starts with permitting and special conditions to generate revenue.

I live in a city on the south shore of Lake Erie with the most wind turbines per square mile than any I know of. All owned by the city.

If I wanted to install a turbines it would cost me not get me a discount. Eric is correct, everyone is trying to make more money. The world will be a better place when we all learn that one must do something to get money.

Alocal community in my AO hired an out of state drilling firm to put in municipal geo ground loops. Longer loops than typical here were supplied. Inexperienced contractors employed. Oversized equipment installed.

Price thanks to the cities involvement appears to be about 5K higher than I could do the job for (per home) and the buyer has to pay usage on the municipal loops each month.

I asked a buddy to see if we had an oppurtunity to compete there (since he does conventional hvac work in that community). He called and said it was implied that their list of approved contractors was full. He also was given the impression that further pursuit would jeopardize his other dealings there.
