How to test DX copper piping prior to putting into ground

Hi have had all kinds of advice re testing loops. What is the best way to test 3/8 and 1/2 inch loops and where does one get the guage or do you just make one?

As far as I know manufacturers send loops under pressure. Once field is assembled one would put a gauge and schrader valve on loop system and run pressure up with dry nitrogen.
